Last month, New Balance teamed up with Todd Snyder on an M997 made up of bison leather and pigskin suede. The American footwear stalwart is back with a new take on the 997 silhouette, this time as an earthy iteration of basket-woven textiles and wood-inspired paneling — CM997HAN “Slate Green/Stone Blue.”

Starting at the top of the sneakers, “New Balance” is placed at the top of the tongue, sewn over crisp ballistic cotton, matching the shade of the round white laces covering the forefoot. The heel counter comes in a bold orange shade, contrasted by a wood-textured beige panel and light blue leather sidewalls with a navy “N” logo. A thin mint green panel is placed at the throat line, followed by forest green pigskin suede at the toe cap. All of these details sit above an angular midsole, finished off by a thin beige gum outsole.

The New Balance CM997HAN “Slate Green/Stone Blue” are currently available at Sneaker Politics’ website $90 USD.

Elsewhere, Opening Ceremony and HOKA ONE ONE have reunited for a limited edition drop.
