maharishi's Lunar New Year Capsule Celebrates the "Year of the Rat"
Intricate embroidery covers jackets, pants and more.

With Chinese Near Year just around the corner, brands have been finding ways to celebrate the “Year of the Rat.” Most recently, adidas Originals released a Mickey Mouse pack, while Starbucks Japan launched a special line of drinkware designed around different symbols of good fortune and prosperity. maharishi is now paying respects to the new cycle in the zodiac calendar with a “Lunar Year of the Rat” capsule collection.
The latest range of apparel features an exclusive Stadium Jacket embroidered with woodblock-inspired images on its back. maharishi’s Tour shirt sports an intricate red, black and gold design, while a recurring “Metal Rat” motif is found on the leg of the Italian cotton track pants. T-shirts are printed with graphics that honor the rat as a sign of wealth, as well as ones that take inspiration from Yangzhou paper-cutting. Rounding out the collection are vegetable-dyed Japanese Twill Cupro bandanas that feature 2020’s “Metal Rat.”
Expect the “Lunar Year of the Rat” capsule collection to drop at 6 a.m. EST on maharishi’s website and at London store locations on January 17. The collection will be available to purchase at New York store locations at 11 a.m. EST that same day.
