Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and to celebrate adidas Originals has teamed up with Disney’s iconic Mickey Mouse on a range of footwear and accessories.

To celebrate the Year of the Rat, Mickey Mouse is the perfect character to grace some of adidas‘ revered silhouettes, including the Stan Smith and Superstar. The range pays a subtle nod to importance of numbers in Chinese tradition, seeing as the pack is comprised of three distinct sneakers: the “CNY Mickey Mouse Stan Smith 3D,” the “CNY Mickey Mouse Out of Office Stan Smith,” and finally the “CNY Mickey Mouse Out of Office Superstar.”

The “CNY Mickey Mouse Stan Smith 3D” is completely dressed in 3D comicstrip graphics and comes with a pair of 3D glasses, allowing the wearers to experience the pair in a new and innovative way. On the “CNY Mickey Mouse Out of Office” Stan Smith and Superstar, each model is fashioned from full grain leather and features bold Mickey Mouse graphics on the lateral portions. Finally the two aforementioned options have been finished off with a handwritten message stating Mickey is out on a trip for the Lunar New Year.

Additionally, the collection is rounded-out with a Mickey Mouse embellished hip-bag.

The adidas Originals Chinese New Year: Mickey Mouse Pack will release this Saturday, January 18 at select adidas retailers such as Browns and adidas’ online store. Sneakers will retail for $999 HKD and the bag for $399 HKD (approximately $128 USD and $51 USD). Chinese New Year festivities kick off the following week on Saturday, January 25.
