Wiki Spends the Day in His Native New York with New "The Routine" Music Video
The underground New York City rap veteran shows off his city and daily routine.
Wiki has been a proven New York City hip-hop staple since the early 2010s thanks to the continuity and originality of RATKING. Since going solo, Wiki, born Patrick Morales, has broadened his scope with collaborations ranging from Lil Ugly Mane and Denzel Curry to Madlib and Your Old Droog. His second solo album OOFIE released in early November of last year and further refined his approach to break out from underneath the NYC underground. Now he’s back with a new music video for “The Routine” in which he wakes up, heads to Canal Street via the subway, hits up the local bodega and proves that he’s a true and through native New Yorker.
“Rugrat turned club rat/ Old head wanna be a young cat/ This the city that we live in/ I just wanna kick some wisdom to the kids that’s finna run that/ Time passed, time that you’ll never find back/ Trust that, settle for the fun past, f*ck that,” Wiki raps over heavy horns from Roofeeo production. The 26-year-old postures as a veteran but has plenty of energy exuding from quick cuts, rooftops showcasing the city skyline and a busy daily schedule.
