Matthew M Williams Previews Four New 1017 ALYX 9SM x Nike Air Force 1s
Ahead of his brand’s FW20 runway show at Paris Fashion Week.
Ahead of 1017 ALYX 9SM‘s FW20 runway show at Paris Fashion week, brand head Matthew M Williams has taken to his Instagram to tease four upcoming Air Force 1 High collaborations. First revealed by way of mock-up images posted by both Williams and ALYX back in October 2018, the luxurious high-tops are set to make an official debut tomorrow in a quartet of classically styled colorways.
Crafted from premium tumbled leather, Williams’s Air Force 1s are presented in all white, all black, black with a white Swoosh and white with a black Swoosh, strap and midsole. Signature ALYX detailing arrives on the proprioceptus belt by way of the brand’s signature buckle with silver or gold tooling. This is accented further by gold or silver foil stamps on the lateral heel counter.
Williams first debuted this technical-yet-practical design at 2018’s HYPEFEST. Limited pairs have popped up since then — which typically resell for four-figure sums — but this marks the collaboration’s full arrival. Of course, the designer is no stranger to working with Nike, as he’s created everything from co-branded apparel collections to Vapor Street Flyknits and several iterations of the technical Free TR SP 3. However, this marks a new, less tech-focused lane of collaboration for the two partners.
Get a detailed look at each colorway right here and expect a limited release at ALYX’s Paris pop-up located at 12-14 Rue Lechevin, 75011 from 12PM-7PM on January 16.
If you can’t get enough Air Force 1 collaborations, take a look at Don C‘s Just Don x Nike Air Force 1 High, complete with a bright colorway inspired by his home city of Chicago.
