Shortly after dropping Junya Watanabe MAN‘s monochromatic set of M1500s, New Balance took almost no time to churn out an all-new rendition of the silhouette, this time as a celebration of Chinese New Year.
Featured is M1500 “Year of the Rat,” dominated by black pigskin suede against soft, creamy caramel-colored brown accents. The top of the sneaker is etched with “New Balance” and “Made in England” branding, followed by flat laces that cover forefoot. Light beige highlights are placed at the collars, complemented by the embroidered “NB” logo at the heel counter and the silhouette’s “1500” marker at the rear quarter. Contrasting the black suede sidewalls is the New Balance’s signature “N” logo, framed by beige and brown outlines. Additional brown accents appear along the throat line and toe cap, set above sleek black mudguards. All of these details sit above a retro ecru-toned midsole, embedded with essential ENCAP cushioning for optimal comfort and support.
The New Balance M1500 “Year of the Rat” is currently available at FOOT DISTRICT’s website for $200 USD.
