Kawhi Leonard has had a long journey from California’s Mr. Basketball to the top dog on the Los Angeles Clippers, so New Balance is saluting his progression with an “Inspire the Dream” collection. Drawing from Kawhi’s days at Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, the collection dresses his OMN1S and a three-pack of lifestyle silhouettes — the 997S, the 850 and the 574 — plus a set of apparel in the Wolves’ navy, scarlet and grey color scheme.

On-court performance is front and center with the OMN1S, which offers gray and navy printed detailing over the majority of its FitWeave upper. Touches of scarlet and gold add flair, while the midfoot band features an “Inspire” motif printed in gold letters. UltraHeel comfort ensures lockdown, and NB’s FuelCell tech is loaded into the midsole for high-energy responsive cushioning.

Moving from hooping to lampin’, the 997S, 850 and 574 are all dressed in elegant navy, and use materials like leather, mesh and suede for a lifestyle look. Gray plays a lesser role, used mostly on the seams that hold each upper’s various panels together. Red appears on all three styles’ laces and the 574’s tongue, while each shoe offers its own unique touches of flair with gold accents and various branded hits. Apparel consists of a bomber jacket, a vintage hoodie and tees, each with a scheme to match the footwear.

The New Balance “Inspire the Dream” collection will release on January 30 at the New Balance webstore. The OMN1s is priced at $140 USD, and retail prices for the rest of the offerings have yet to be announced.

Kawhi’s Clippers teammate Paul George recently got some new shoes as well: his PG 4 appeared in a colorful “Gatorade” camo makeover for NBA All-Star Weekend.
