Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, and Lil Yachty Join Sonic the Hedgehog in "Speed Me Up" Music Video
The lyrics and visuals celebrate the totality of the ‘Sonic’ franchise.
The release date for Paramount Pictures‘ upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film is coming soon. As a result, Atlantic Records dropped the first music video and single from its upcoming soundtrack called “Speed Me Up,” featuring artists like Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty and Sueco the Child.
The track, produced by Take A Daytrip, features several iconic bells, whistles, and chimes, from the classic 16-bit series starring the Blue Blur, and the video pays tribute to that era of games in its visuals. The music video has the rappers and their 16-bit counterpart reliving iconic moments from the game, as well as scenes showcased in several of the film’s trailers. Even the lyrics from Wiz and Yachty make references to the franchise, like mainstay characters Knuckles and Tails, who fans speculate will make an appearance in the film.
