Griselda Performs Standout Hit "Dr. Bird's" on 'Jimmy Fallon'
Tell Jimmy write “BRICK” on my brick.
Fresh off of debuting the Hype Williams-directed “Dr. Bird’s” music video, Buffalo’s own Griselda took to 30 Rockefeller Plaza to perform their hit single on national television and in front of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon‘s studio audience.
Backed sparingly by in-house producer Daringer in lieu of Questlove and The Roots, Westside Gunn was at his #FLYGOD finest rocking a KidSuper 1 of 1 Paris trench coat. The standout cut from the collective’s first joint studio effort WWCD was aided by a projected image of the actual Jamaican spot in Buffalo, New York that inspired the song’s name. Meanwhile, Conway The Machine thrives with his menacing laugh ad lib punched in over the studio’s speakers.
“I would have to rank us number one,” Benny The Butcher told HYPEBEAST in an interview last year, referencing the hard work that Griselda has put in over the past decade. “In this climate, [other rappers] wanna do different sh*t, you know what I’m saying? Everybody clout chasing and they tryna get a hit record and we the only people that stayed true to the craft. So we gotta get the credit for that. We don’t even – with the Shady deal on the major label side – and with all the things that we could have going on, it’s not important to us. We breathin’ breath into hip-hop. And we made it cool to rap again.”
