adidas Originals Combines Two Iconic Silhouettes to Create the Superstan
The Stan Smith meets the Superstar.
After fifty years, the adidas Superstar is undergoing a transformation. Combining the heritage sneaker with an equally iconic silhouette, the Stan Smith, adidas Originals presents the aptly-named Superstan. Blending signature features of each shoe — such as the bell toe of the Superstar and the classic Stan Smith colorway — adidas Originals aims to mark a new chapter in the legacies of each design.
To celebrate the release, adidas Originals has produced a playful film starring Stan Smith himself, shot on location in his home state of Florida. In a characteristically tongue-in-cheek manner, the tennis legend touches on his career, legacy and what it’s like being better known for your contributions to footwear rather than tennis.
The adidas Superstan releases globally on February 1, retailing at $120 USD on the adidas Orignals web store.
