Disney Is Making a Live-Action Bambi Movie
Made in the same vein as ‘The Lion King’ and ‘The Jungle Book.’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is moving forward with a live-action feature-length adaptation of 1942’s Bambi. The film is being written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking), however, a director has yet to be decided. Robertson-Dworet and Beer previously worked together to write Silver & Black, the Silver Sable Black Cat spin-off series based on Sony Picture’s current Spider-Man franchise.
Disney’s original animated feature received Oscar nominations for Best Song, Best Score, and Best Sound. It is unconfirmed how much of the new movie will be live-action, but THR reports the film will liken to previous live-action films The Lion King and The Jungle Book, using CGI tech to create animal characters.
Although a release date has yet to be announced, more updates are expected to arrive in the coming months.
