Jordan Brand and the NBA have recently unveiled the official uniforms the 2020 All-Star games, presenting a colorful line-up of jerseys and shorts that were inspired by Chicago‘s own transit system. As the high-intensity weekend is set to embark on the midwestern hub in the coming weeks, the brands sought to pay homage to the city by referencing the eight different rail lines along its commuter system.
Different aspects of the event will use colors from certain lines, culminating in a rainbow-hued assortment of the on-court gear. There will be shades of blue and red for the main All-Star Game itself, pink and green for the celebrity game, purple and orange for the Rising Stars game and brown and yellow for the NBA Cares Special Olympics Unified Basketball Game. The nods to Chicago (and subtly to the ’90s-era Chicago Bulls) continue with other design details, including the All-Star Game uniform’s six-pointed star that was borrowed from the city’s flag.
Look out for the jerseys to hit the court at the start of All-Star Weekend on February 14, and for styles to launch at Nike’s webstore beginning on January 23.
