Helly Hansen and PUMA Head Back to the Great Outdoors With Second Collection
Fresh collaborative takes on the LQD CELL, RS-X³ Mid, Ralph Sampson and Future Rider.

After a well-received first collection last fall, Helly Hansen and PUMA have linked up again for a Spring 2020 capsule that includes four new footwear silhouettes. Presenting fresh takes on the LQD CELL, RS-X³ Mid, Ralph Sampson and Future Rider — all of which are equipped with a black, grey, yellow and red palette — the designs are geared towards the great outdoors but rooted in the streets.
Each shoe in the collection interprets the adventurous color scheme in its own way, and adds unique details. The LQD CELL uses bungee cord-esque rope overlays for layered texture and technical touches. Combined with its bulbous midsole, it offers a look adjacent to a fully packed hiking backpack. The RS-X³ Mid sits in a grey area literally (with its dark color scheme) and figuratively (it looks as if it’s equal parts shoe and boot), making for an appealing amalgamation of divergent styles.
Meanwhile, the Ralph Sampson belies its basketball heritage with new branding, raised plastic eyestays and signal flag graphics on the tongue, proffering a look that’s highly nautical. Lastly, the Future Rider offers a sleek look with its thin knit upper and adds conceptual style with layered heel tabs and an exposed foam tongue. If the last collection crafted by the two parties was any indication, there will likely be a varied offering of apparel and accessories to accompany the shoes as well.
The Helly Hansen x PUMA footwear will release on the PUMA webstore come February 8, with retail prices ranging from $110-140 USD.
