The OG dad sneaker combines a technical mesh upper with overlaying leather panels, creating a superiorly comfortable sneaker that is lightweight and breathable. The “Frozen Forest/Black Multi” iteration sports dark grey mesh for its base and incorporates a number of retro design cues such as metallic silver segmenting, grey-blue leather on the toe box and rear, and pops of volt yellow for the sock liner, tongue and heel branding, outsole and large “N” side-panel emblem.
New Balance’s “Silver/Black” offering is more muted, combining crisp white mesh with solid black mesh for its base, and overlaying this with silver leather panels. Both pairs feature ABZORB and Nergy cushioning in its sole unit, an ACTEVA lite midsole, and a durable rubber outsole.
The pairs are releasing at retailers such as Sneakersnstuff, with the “Silver/Black” offering landing on January 15 and the “Frozen Forest/Black Multi” iteration coming a day later on January 16. Both pairs retail for £99 GBP (approx. $130 USD).
In other news, adidas has reimagined the ZX 8000 in snakeskin-printed leather.
