Disney+ Teases What's Coming in 2020, Moves Up 'WandaVision' Release Date

With The Mandalorian ending its eight-episode run just before the new year, some Disney+ subscribers have considered leaving the streaming platform. Perhaps in a show of foresight, Disney+ has now released a trailer teasing what’s to come in 2020, building excitement for the new year’s offerings.

The clip, which you can watch above, showcases numerous Disney properties coming to the streaming platform. Among them are the live-action remakes of Lion King and Aladdin, joined by the recent Toy Story 4. Subscribers will also receive access to various Star Wars titles such as The Clone Wars, The Force Awakens, and of course, the forthcoming second season of fan-favorite The Mandalorian. Other new originals like Muppets Now, Lamp Life from Pixar, and Lizzie McGuire — with Hilary Duff reprising her classic role as the lead — will all be coming to the platform in 2020 as well.

Perhaps most significantly, however, is the surprise announcement of Marvel’s new WandaVision series. Its release date has been moved up to 2020 from 2021, joining the ranks of soon-to-come series like Falcon and Winter Soldier. The series, which will see Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen once again fill the shoes of Vision and Scarlet Witch, will tie in directly with the 2021 film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Meanwhile, Marvel president Kevin Feige recently confirmed the MCU’s first transgender character.
