BlackEyePatch & G-SHOCK Look to the Maneki-Neko for Latest Watch Capsule
Two DW-5600s and one GA-100 round out the unique range.
BlackEyePatch has teamed up with Casio G-SHOCK for three unique “MANEKINEKO” themed models that feature design cues from the Japanese talisman. Two DW-5600s and one GA-100 are included in the release, featuring packaging that showcases the lucky “beckoning cat” character.
The square-shaped DW-5600 models feature a simple design — offered up in a jet black iteration as well as one featuring a pink band and contrasting white face. When the watch’s backlight is turned on, the Makeni-neko cat appears in red. The latter GA-100 model features a combination of both digital and analog timekeeping functions, opting for a black base with a gold-colored dial. The cat appears on the subdials hand. Finishing off each watch is a small cat’s head located on the band keeper, with each watch coming in unique packaging designed by BlackEyePatch.
The series is currently available in Japan and other Asian countries, with the DW-5600s priced at ¥14,300 JPY and the GA-100 priced at ¥18,700 JPY (approximately $130 and $170 USD, respectively).
