New 'The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening' Trailer Breaks Down Vastly Updated Remake
Lots of ‘Mario’ iconography will appear.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is a remake of the 1993 Game Boy classic, and in the trailer above, we see how much of an overhaul this Nintendo Switch title will receive. The cast of updated characters includes Marin, a Princess Zelda look-alike, Tarin, a character that resembles Mario, and a bunch of other Mario iconographies like Chain Chomps and Goombas.
Link will retain several of his classic weapons, but will also be equipped with newer accessories like The Power Bracelets, which allows him to lift heavy items, or the Flippers, which allows Link to swim across ponds. New collectibles allow players to create their own dungeon with “Chamber Dungeons,” and the remake introduces a ton of mini-games like fishing, rafting, or playing a hand crane in order to win a Yoshi doll.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on September 20.
In other gaming news, Nintendo released a new trailer explaining its Ring-Con fitness controller and Ring Fit Adventure game.
