Herschel Supply Reimagines the New Balance 801 for Latest Capsule Collection
Their first collaboration in six years.
Nearly six years after their first two partnerships, Herschel Supply and New Balance come together once again. This time, the Vancouver-based travel lifestyle brand reimagines the footwear company’s all terrain 801 sneaker, alongside a capsule collection of clothing and accessories.
The collaboration marks the first time New Balance has allowed another brand to revamp the trail-inspired 801 runner. When the sneaker originally launched in 1998, it was notable for fusing city and trail running into one silhouette — a concept that remains relevant today. New Jersey Nets point guard Stephon Marbury shot the 801s into the mainstream when he wore them on a 1999 SLAM magazine cover.
Now, Herschel Supply is offering its own take on the shoe, pushing it forward as a modern lifestyle sneaker. Available in three distinct colorways, the chunky-soled silhouette also features New Balance’s Abzorb midsole, which provides unparalleled cushioning and support. Reflective accents, “All Terrain” embroidery at the heel counter and multiple co-branded elements round out the sneaker. Herschel Supply is also releasing a selection of apparel and accessories to complement the New Balance 801, including a crossbody bag, hip pack anorak and a long sleeve T-shirt.
