Jessica Biel Stars in Eerie Facebook Watch Series 'Limetown'
Based off of the hit podcast.
Nowadays it’s very common to see both the big and small screen filled with projects based off of a popular novel. Taking things one step further, Facebook Watch‘s upcoming series, Limetown, is inspired by the hit podcast of the same name.
The new series tells a fictional story through the perspective of a radio journalist named Lia Haddock, portrayed by Jessica Biel, who investigates why 326 people have mysteriously disappeared without a trace at a neuroscience research community located in Tennessee. As she continues to dig deeper into the mystery, Haddock not only puts her own life in danger, but also the lives of those she loves.
Limetown also stars Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada), Marlee Matlin (Quantico), Kelly Jenrette (The Handmaid’s Tale), John Beasley (Shots Fired), Sherri Saum (The Fosters), Omar Elba (A Hologram For the King), Louis Ferriera (The Man in the High Castle), and Janet Kidder (Arrow). Podcast creators Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie penned the small screen adaptation as well as executive produced the project.
The podcast has been described as a mix between Serial and The X-Files. Limetown made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and arrives on Facebook Watch October 16.
For more entertainment news, an IT five-hour supercut was teased by director Andy Muschietti.
