Only NY & PRO-Keds Upgrade Royal Lo Plus in Latest Collaboration
Available in Old Gold, Egret and Hunter Green.
New York-based brand Only NY has teamed up with PRO-Keds once again for a sneaker and T-shirt collaboration. While the brands have worked together on Royal Lo and Royal Hi sneakers, this is the first time that the Royal Plus silhouette will get an upgrade.
The Only NY x PRO-Keds Royal Lo Plus sneaker has a premium Wolverine Suede upper, red and blue stripes on the midsole and co-branding on the back with debossed and screen printed logos. The shoe is available in three distinct colorways: Old Gold, Egret and Hunter Green. Only NY and PRO-Keds also collaborated on a T-shirt that was inspired by vintage PRO-Keds advertisements, reading “Shoes for Athletes’ Feet” on the back.
While the Royal Lo and Hi were two of the earliest basketball shoes, the Royal Plus was introduced in the ’70s as an upgrade of the Royal silhouette and worn by basketball players like Nate Archibald and Pete Maravich. By the ’80s, the shoes came to represent the greater street scene of New York.
The shoes and T-shirt are available now on Only NY’s website and at the Greenpoint and LES in-store locations. Prices range from $36 to $95 USD.
