Nike Taps Into Tie-Dye Trend With Multi-Sport Polos

Taking inspiration from skateboarding, tennis, track & field and of course golf.

Nike is breathing new life into the classic polo with the release of three bright, tie-dyed versions for its Golf and Skateboarding ranges. Each piece was inspired by different athletes and trends and has been uniquely hand-dyed for a one-of-a-kind look.

The “Prefontaine” edition pays homage to the late American runner through a bold mix of rainbow-hued colors that speak to his “rebellious personality.” For the tennis version, the brand has infused a windbreaker design that recalls some of the retro colorblocked and neon gear worn on the court in the ’90s. Meanwhile, the “Pastel” polo plays up the current fashion trend of the same name, incorporating gradient schemes across shades of purple, pink and blue.

Look out for the polos to be available for purchase beginning Thursday, August 2 on Nike’s SNKRS app. The app also has a couple behind-the-design stories surrounding this drop.
