Extra Butter Channels Tarantino's 'True Romance' for Graphic-Heavy Capsule
Ammunition shirts and cherub graphics are destined to make you “so cool.”
Extra Butter is paying tribute to Quentin Tarantino‘s ’90s movie classic True Romance in its end-of-Summer capsule collection. The “True Romance” collection embodies the Bonnie and Clyde relationship between Clarence and Alabama, the protagonists who paint a love story packed with grit and violence in true Tarantino style.
The New York staple has presented a capsule collection featuring pieces worthy of True Romance‘s original wardrobe. The Clarence Leisure Shirt is reminiscent of Drexl Spivey’s bold shirts as it features an all-over bullet pattern created from real-life ammunition test shots, which was inspired by the film’s climactic shoot-out.
Extra Butter rounds off the “True Romance” capsule collection with two T-shirts. The women’s one sports the cherub tattoos from the film’s lead characters which incorporates Alabama’s famous line “You’re So Cool” alongside the label’s moniker. The other T-shirt features an Extra Butter-adaptation of the film’s signature artwork and is available in men’s sizes.
To celebrate the launch, Extra Butter will be holding a screening of True Romance at 8 PM tonight at its Lower East Side location in New York. The collection will be available to purchase in-store and online via a draw on August 3 from 11 AM.
