Watch Robert De Niro & Al Pacino in the First Trailer for Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman'

Netflix has released the first trailer for The Irishman, the upcoming feature film directed by Martin Scorsese. Starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and more, the film shows the world of American organized crime following the end of World War II. De Niro plays Frank Sheeran — also known as “The Irishman” — a hustler and hitman. Based on non-fiction book I Hear You Paint Houses, by Charles Brandt, the film is revolves around Sheeran’s reflections on his life, and key moments from his role in the mob.
The Irishman tells the story of Sheeran’s involvement with the Bufalino crime family, led by Roberto Bufalino (Joe Pesci). With a story spanning decades, the movie also focuses on the disappearance of union boss Jimmy Hoffa. Hoffa went missing in 1975 and, although it has never been proven, Sheeran was a longstanding suspect in the disappearance. In The Irishman, Hoffa is portrayed by Al Pacino.
As well as De Niro, Pacino and Pesci, the all-star cast also features the likes of Harvey Keitel, Bobby Cannavale and Stephen Graham. No official release date has been shared, but Netflix has announced that it will appear in select cinemas and on the streaming service in Fall 2019.
