First 'Mindhunter' Season 2 Trailer Teases Charles Manson, Son of Sam
Along with the Atlanta child murders of 1979.
Netflix has finally dropped the first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated second season of David Fincher‘s Mindhunter.
According to the just over one-minute clip, the show’s sophomore season will focus on Charles Manson, Son of Sam. The visuals kick off with FBI Agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) visiting a familiar face, killer Ed Kemper (Cameron Britton), to pick his brain on the new, unknown serial killer. This is then interjected with scenes of a woman who discovers something terrifying in her bathroom.
The second season is expected to cover the Atlanta child murders that took place from 1979-81, which saw at least 28 African-American teens and children murdered, and touch upon Charles Manson, Son of Sam (a.k.a. David Berkowitz) and the masked BTK Strangler. Manson is played by Damon Herriman who also portrays the notorious killer in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Along with Groff, McCallany and Britton, the second season also stars Joe Tuttle, Albert Jones, Stacey Roca, Michael Cerveris, Lauren Glazier, and Sierra McClain. Fincher will direct some episodes along with Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James) and Carl Franklin (Devil in a Blue Dress).
All nine episodes of Mindhunter season 2 drops on Netflix on August 16.
