Rick Owens Drops $9,500 USD Oversized Metallic Backpack
Part backpack, part duffle bag.
Rick Owens has released a cow hair midi megaduffle backpack from the “Larry” Fall/Winter 2019 runway presentation.
“Larry” is a collection that draws inspiration from the American designer Larry Legaspi, who frequently worked with the likes of Labelle and KISS. The metallic rock ‘n’ roll influences are channeled into this runway piece, as the cow hair gives off an aluminum silver effect.
The cow hair itself is voluminous and plush, adding even more grandeur and size to the 60cm x 140cm x 26cm duffle-meets-backpack hybrid. Owens has given the bag exaggerated zipper closures with long leather pull tabs, a detachable side handle with metal buckles, a hair-lined top handle and a large metal buckle on the top of the bag. The metal buckle can be joined to one below, changing the dimension of the bag.
