Louis Vuitton Gives Its Luxembourg & Rivoli Sneakers Iridescent Makeovers
Inspired by Virgil Abloh’s SS19 men’s show.
The iridescent LV Monogram, a key theme in Virgil Abloh‘s Spring/Summer 2019 men’s show, makes its way onto two Louis Vuitton footwear silhouettes. The first pair comes in the form of the Rivoli sneaker boot where the shimmering pattern adorns the side panels and toe box. This suede hi-top model also features a branded Velcro strap that can be fixed from the heel or the front, large branding at the tongue, and leather lining.
The Luxembourg opts for a classic tennis shoe build and utilizes the same iridescent Monogram textile all across the sides of the sneaker, wrapping around the back — only divided by a thin leather strip at the heel. Branding comes in the form of embossed Monogram Flowers at the Luxembourg’s black rubber outsole, and gold debossing at the heel and tongue.
Made in Italy, both the Luxembourg and Rivoli can be found now on Louis Vuitton’s online store for a price of $965 USD and $875 USD, respectively.
