This week slows down with the brief pause in releases from both Palace and Supreme. While the steady stream of collectibles from the two juggernauts has ceased, for now, there are still releases from household names like BAPE, as well as exclusive items from retailers like SSENSE. As expected, the number of releases lean towards to lighters side of soft offerings to align with the hot days ahead. T-shirts and shorts, all in light colors make a heavy splash in this week’s list of Drops.
Music fans will be delighted to learn that Ta-Ku along with Ben Wright have released their latest project called 823; a creative label that focuses on everyday life — translated into clothing, records, zines, and objects. Continuing on the music route, OG lyricist NAS taps Aimé Leon Dore for a collection of sure-cop merch as part of his The Lost Tapes 2 album.

Continuing to prove himself as a multi-disciplinary creative, Ta-ku recently launched his new label 823 alongside Ben Wright. 823 is centered around an appreciation of the simple beauty of everyday life, inspiring various garments, recordings, prints and other objects the label releases.
The inaugural offering from the label is dubbed “Time Stands Still” and tells the story of a couple in the days before a long-distance separation and the fleetingness of time. Comprised of monochromatic T-shirts and hoodies, a dedicated zine and limited-edition clock, the name of the capsule is emblazoned throughout the assemblage. A standout item is a clock etched with thick black details over a crisp white base. Westerstrand branding is placed below the 12 o’clock, followed by the words “Time” at nine o’clock, “Stands” at six and “Still” at three. As a finishing touch, a thin red second-hand is offset against the stout minute and hour hands for visual balance.

To celebrate Summer, KITH Treats Tokyo put together a selection of goods for Japan’s omnipresent Natsu-Matsuri (“Summer Festival”) celebrations.

Ahead of the release of The Lost Tapes 2, Nas has teamed up with Aimé Leon Dore on a selection of merchandise for the highly-anticipated album. Putting together an array of streetwear offerings, the items express Aimé Leon Dore’s minimalistic take on classic typography and graphics, with a college-style “Queens Wolf” print emblazoned long sleeve shirts and hoodies, with the album’s tracklist applied on T-shirts and crewnecks. All garments included are centered around black and white with contrasting graphics.
