Towards the end of last month, adidas consortium unveiled a summer-ready “White” version of the Runner Mid 4D. Now, continuing to serve up new styles for the warmer months, adidas Consortium is linking up with The Next Door to debut new iterations of the SC Premiere and A.R. Trainers.

To introduce these latest takes on the SC Premiere and A.R. Trainer silhouettes, adidas Consortium is sharing a new episode of the SHPTLKS series. Starring The Next Door founder Nicolas Ivars as its subject, episode two of SHPTLKS dives deep into the back-story behind this new pair of releases.

When putting together these new adidas Consortium collaborations, The Next Door’s designers took their inspirational cues from the famed theater culture of their brand’s hometown of Avignon. Notably, Ivars and his crew also converted Avignon’s oldest theater into Crillon, a “contemporary concert store” that aims to “blur the lines between luxury and street culture.” Seeking this drop’s initial creative spark, The Next Door looked to Crillon for influence and motivation; according to Ivars, Crillon represents The Next Door’s personal connection to Avignon’s rich history. adidas Consortium and The Next Door’s new SC Premiere and A.R. Trainers were brought to life as commemorative tributes to progressive fashion and theater, two defining aspects of Avignon culture.

“We thought there was something about the place, a real soul, and we wanted to bring its cozy side into what we were doing,” Nicholas Ivars says, opening up about The Next Door’s place of origin.

You can take a look at adidas Consortium and The Next Door’s new editorial for the latest SC Premiere and A.R. Trainer offerings above, and check out episode two of SHPTLKS below.
