Prince’s Previously Unreleased 'Originals' Is Available for Stream
The curation was handled by Troy Carter and JAY-Z.

Prince is one of the most prolific artists in music history. Outside of crafting hits for himself, The Purple One was a prominent songwriter for other artists. As he wrote music for others, Prince would also record those tracks for himself too. However, for years those records were locked away in his Paisley Park vault.
Today (June 7), the Prince estate, with curation from Troy Carter and Jay-Z, releases Originals, an entire LP of Prince’s versions of hit songs he penned for other stars. Songs such as Sheila E.’s “This Glamorous Life,” the Bangles’ “Manic Monday,” “Nothing Compares 2 U,” and a ton more. Originals follows the posthumous LP of demos that the Prince estate released last year titled Piano And A Microphone 1983.
Stream Originals exclusively via TIDAL here. The entire project will have a wide release via Warner Bros. on all the streaming platforms on June 21. A deluxe physical edition of Originals, which will contain a CD and 180-gram purple vinyl, will drop on July 19.
