Palm Angels Unveils Laidback Tropical Lounge Inspirations for SS20
Dominated by floral patterns and butterfly motifs.

As a follow up to Francesco Ragazzi‘s recent collaborative capsule with Moncler Genius, the Italian designer has returned with its Spring/Summer 2020 collection, shown at Milan Fashion Week.
The latest SS20 collection is comprised of a series of floral patterns, butterfly prints, heavy logomania, tie-dyes and plaids. All the way from jersey tanktops to boxy leather jackets, featured silhouettes include some recurring Palm Angels classics, like track pants, as well as newer pieces such as multi-strapped vests and a bevy of finely-cut long coats, baggy Hawaiian shirts and a shearling collar flight jacket. The overall tone of the collection is informed by laidback tropical resort-esque motifs that take shape in masterfully-tailored cut-and-sew garments.
One silhouette that stands out in the collection is the eyewear, offered up in either black or orange. Holding a sharp narrow profile, the shades are made of a single connecting lens that extends past the middle bridge. Black frames wrap around an orange lens, while white frames outline the black lens. Another highlight is the floral short-sleeve button-up, tinged in purple and colored sporadically throughout in wild hits of red, yellow, navy and green. While the shirt bears a traditional camp collar, the silhouette is made oversized and boxy. The addition of a sizable leather pocket envelope hanging at the chest completes the piece. Other notable pieces in the expansive assemblage include a multi-patch hoodie, floral printed shorts and textured knits.
