Klay Thompson Is Reportedly Joining 'Space Jam 2' Cast
The announcement is expected to be made after the 2019 NBA Finals.
Klay Thompson remains busy as the Golden State Warriors fight for a three-peat, but it seems like he’s already made plans for the offseason. According to FOX Sports’ Jason McIntyre, the shooting guard is all-in to star alongside LeBron James in the upcoming Space Jam 2.
McIntyre dropped the news while discussing the possibility of Thompson joining the Los Angeles Lakers. “Everybody thinks [Klay] is probably staying with the Warriors, and I would agree with that,” he began. “But I heard some news this week that could change things — that Klay Thompson is now locked in to do Space Jam 2. I don’t think that news is anywhere. I Googled it last night, I went on the Internet. Nobody has it. I do believe an announcement will come out after the Finals that Klay Thompson is committed to Space Jam 2: he will be in the movie.”
Billed as a sequel to Michael Jordan’s 1996 cult classic, only two other names are included in the cast list. Milwaukee Bucks PF Giannis Antetokounmpo recently revealed that he declined an invitation to star in the film, and the last confirmed update dates back to February regarding its release date.
Space Jam 2 hits theaters July 16, 2021.
In case you missed it, a majority of the U.S. is rooting for the Toronto Raptors to win the 2019 NBA Finals.
