Converse has already tried its hand at some progressive, see-through Chuck Taylor All-Stars, but the company’s Japanese branch is taking things a step further. The All-Star Light Clear Material Hi introduces a duo of tall silhouettes rendered completely transparent due to tonal polyurethane uppers.

The Chuck Taylor All-Star silhouette’s familiar white toecap, mid- and outsole all retain their familiar shapes, crafted from sturdy rubber, as usual, with clean white laces offered on each shoe. Otherwise, the shoes are entirely reshaped with see-through uppers, offered in clear and pink colorways. Familiar accents, like the Converse badge on the medial side and reinforcement panels on the heel and medial forefoot, reappear, with suede on the tongue, vamp and heel to keep the sneakers’ shapes intact.

Both the pink and clear iterations of the Chuck Taylor All-Star Light Clear Material Hi hit Converse Japan’s site and stores in July.

Most recently, Converse Japan dropped customizable Chuck Taylor “Cut Line” sneakers.
