H.E.R. & YBN Cordae Wax Poetic About Their Love of Cash on "Racks"
Produced by Flippa, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman & Jaron Bozeman.
Earlier this month, YBN Cordae teamed up with Chance The Rapper for “Bad Idea,” a new collaborative single in support of his anticipated studio album The Lost Boy. Now, the YBN lyricist is being recruited by H.E.R. for a new track known as “Racks.” Produced by the trio of Flippa, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman & Jaron Bozeman, “Racks” gives Cordae and H.E.R. a platform to wax poetic about their passion for paper-chasing. Instead of delivering verses about significant others, the pair choose to share some insight into their love of cash.
“Now you know a young n***a got them racks up on me / I can introduce to my rapper homies / But I ain’t gon’ take you to the matrimony / Probably gon’ leave you down, sad and lonely,” Cordae spits on “Racks,” revealing a desire to pursue checks instead of women. “My infatuation with these bags I’m facin’ / Got a couple dollars so congratulations / Tryna find love, so I’m navigatin’ / Shower you with gifts, oversaturation / But I can’t seem to find love without the ratchet shit / This gold dream of mine, why am I attached to this? / But happiness is when you glad in bliss / And the cash and shit is a catalyst.”

YBN Cordae is planning on releasing his The Lost Boy LP next month; while H.E.R. hasn’t publicly revealed any details about her next project, considering today’s drop, it wouldn’t be surprising if she has something up her sleeve.
Back in March, H.E.R. connected with Deante Hitchcock for another high-profile collaborative single, “Feelings.”
