Netflix's Sci-Fi Thriller 'I Am Mother' Features a Deadly Robot Raising a Daughter
An anthropomorphic robot raises a daughter as the only human on Earth, or so they thought…
Netflix has released a trailer for its upcoming sci-fi thriller I Am Mother, which originally debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Directed by Grant Sputore, the film focuses on an anthropomorphic robot named Mother (voiced by Rose Byrne) raising a human girl in an abandoned bunker following an apocalyptic event on Earth.
With humanity now extinct, Mother looked over 63,000 human embryos and chose one to harvest and raise as the last human on the planet. Until the daughter (Clara Rugaard) meets a stranger (Hilary Swank) who arrives from outside the bunker. The film is said to feature plenty of twists, many of which can be seen in the trailer itself.
Check out I Am Mother when it drops on Netflix June 7.
