Naomi Osaka Signs Nike Endorsement Deal
The first Japanese-born player to rank No. 1.

While many were speculating that the two-time Grand Slam winner/current WTA No. 1 would sign to adidas, it has just been announced that Naomi Osaka penned an endorsement deal with Nike.
Not only is she one of the youngest players to reach such a level of stardom in the sport of tennis, but she is also the first Japanese-born player to rank No. 1. When asked about signing with Nike, the 21-year-old replied:
I’m proud to become a member of the Nike family and excited about getting involved in all of the opportunities Nike has to offer. Nike has a legendary track record of writing history and I look forward to being a part of those moments for many years to come.
The commencement of Naomi Osaka’s contract will begin this week while her official Nike Tennis gear will make a debut at the WTA Event in Stuttgart this coming April 22. There is currently no word yet on a figure amount, or how long the duration of the contract will last until.
