Towards the beginning of last year, Ewing Athletics unveiled a trio of new styles for Black History Month 2018: Athletics 33 Hi Multicolor, Concepts Hi Black/Gold/Gum, and Eclipse Black/Gold. Now the New Jersey-based brand is back with a special new collaborative offering. Specifically, the East Coast company is teaming up with one of the West Coast’s greatest and most iconic musical institutions for a new Ewing 33 Hi collaboration that honors some of California’s greatest hip-hop exports. Giving the Ewing 33 Hi silhouette a black and red rework, Ewing connects with Death Row Records for a special edition sneaker that stands as the legendary label’s very first foray into footwear collaborations.
“We proudly present the Death Row Records x #Ewing 33 HI. Originally founded in 1991, Death Row became the dominant label in hip-hop while the 33 HI ruled the courts,” reads an official statement from Ewing Athletics. “This collaborative sneaker flaunts a premium pig suede upper along with details like a clear translucent red sole, gradient midsole, reflective hits, and special Death Row packaging. The flagship Ewing Athletics shoe, the 33 HI, is an exact retro of the 1990 original. It features a classic reversible ankle strap that can be worn on the front or back of the shoe and a full-length PU midsole for cushioning.”
You can take a look at the new Ewing 33 Hi collaboration from Death Row Records above. The aforementioned sneaker retails for $140 USD, and is curently available for online purchase through the official Ewing Athletics website.
