Gucci's Spiked Basketball-Shaped Bag Is an Ode to ’80s Punk

Just when Gucci‘s accessory game couldn’t seemingly get any more eccentric after its $4,500 USD plastic Mickey Mouse carrier, the Italian label one-ups itself with an edgy “basketball-shaped” bag adorned with metal spikes.
Recalling the ’80s glam rock and punk inspiration from the brand’s Cruise 2019 show, the mini tote is crafted in black leather and lined with the spiky silver-tone bits throughout. The fashion house simultaneously drew influence from the athletic world, constructing the bag in a circular shape designed in the essence of a ball. Two leather handles and a detachable shoulder strap make it a two-in-one carry, while a double G logo at the front finishes it off with branding.
Priced at $3,980 USD, the bag is available to purchase now from Gucci’s webstore, as well as select retailers such as Mytheresa.com.
