Sony Launches Wena Smart Watch Strap Internationally
Full smartwatch capabilities inside a strap.

Sony has announced that its Wena watch strap will release internationally. The strap comes complete with smartwatch technology and is able to be combined with different analogue watch faces. The functions available through the strap include fitness tracking, contactless payments and phone notifications. This technology is all in the watch clasp, along with a small screen showing notifications.
The Wena — an acronym of “wear electronics naturally” – comes in either a classic metal link style or a silicone construction intended for fitness. The fitness-oriented “Active” model also comes with additional GPS and and heart tracking. Both bands styles are compatible with any watch face taking an 18, 20 or 22-millimetre lug.
The Wena has been available in Japan since 2015, but Sony is finally set to sell the watch strap internationally.
