Sony scheduled the global release of the PlayStation Pulse wireless headset for November 19 at a $100 USD price point. Priced $50 USD lower than the PlayStation Pulse Elite, which introduced planar magnetic technology to Sony’s lineup, the new model brings high-end audio technology to a broader gaming audience. Pre-orders open on October 29.
The PlayStation Pulse features larger planar magnetic drivers than those in the previous model. Swapping in these larger drivers allows the hardware to deliver deeper bass while maintaining a clean audio profile. The drivers provide precise spatial accuracy, helping players identify directional cues during gameplay. A dedicated microphone uses AI-enhanced noise rejection technology to minimize background sound.
Buyers can choose between clean white and midnight black color options. The PlayStation Pulse wireless headset supports standard Bluetooth and the proprietary PlayStation Link protocol. Through PlayStation Link, the headset connects instantly to the PS5, the handheld PlayStation Portal, Mac and PC setups. The protocol delivers lossless, ultra-low latency audio and enables seamless switching between console and desktop environments.
On November 19, the PlayStation Pulse launches simultaneously in major markets including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Sony confirmed the initial rollout includes over a dozen additional countries. Regional availability for other areas will be announced at a later date.
