Gangster Doodles and Nike Unveil Quirky "NBA Nickname" Graphic Tees
Honoring Giannis Antetokounmpo, DeMarcus Cousins, James Harden, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.

After dropping off his 26-track compilation LP, Gangster Music, Vol. 1 last week, Marlon Sassy — known also as Gangster Doodles — has shifted his talents to the fashion world with a set of NBA-centric graphic T-shirts with Nike. The artist has designed five one-of-a-kind illustrations that celebrate some of the league’s biggest names, paying homage to Giannis Antetokounmpo, DeMarcus Cousins, James Harden, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.
Sassy references each of the player’s nickname in quirky drawings as the concept behind the collection. On Antetokounmpo‘s tee, the Milwaukee Bucks forward is pictured slamming down a dunk underneath of the words “Greek Freak,” a name that simultaneously acknowledges his Greek heritage and his ball-handling skills. The “Boogie” top showcases Cousins in his Golden State Warriors uniform as he flexes with tattooed arms and a sweaty face, depicting his “intense on-court demeanor.” Meanwhile, the “Hey Brodie” edition salutes Russell Westbrook, highlighting his entire Oklahoma City Thunder uniform down to the shoes as a nod to his unique style. James is honored with the “King James” shirt, which sets the three-time NBA champion in a crown and his Los Angeles Lakers Uniform while surrounded by trophies. Finally, Harden is etched with his Houston Rockets uniform and his notorious facial hair in “The Beard” tee, in which he holds up his signature three-point celebratory hand gesture.
The NBA Nickname T-shirts are crafted in a lightweight knit fabrication and equipped with Nike’s Dri-FIT technology. They are constructed with a crewneck silhouette and feature a jock tag that spells out each player’s name in doodle print. All styles are offered in white and priced at $40 USD. Expect them to become available in the near future at Nike.
