Disney Releases a New Poster & Teaser Trailer for 'The Lion King' Remake
Take a closer look into the African savanna.
Disney surprised fans mid-Oscars ceremony with a brand new poster and teaser trailer for its upcoming The Lion King remake.
The Long Live the King teaser trailer gives fans another look into the photorealistic animation of the African savanna, notably focusing on the wise mandrill Rafiki and a young Simba—literally and figuratively—stepping into his father’s paws. Animals of the jungle can also be seen bowing their heads towards Pride Rock, pledging their allegiance to the royal family. Meanwhile, the latest poster features King Mufasa and cub Simba standing behind the film’s iconic orange sunset.
Spearheaded by 2016’s The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau, the all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa , Billy Eichner as Timon, John Kani as Rafiki, John Oliver as Zazu, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari, Eric Andre as Azizi, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, and James Earl Jones as Mufasa.
Disney’s The Lion King is set to hit theaters July 19.
