ASICS releases a special new GEL-KAYANO 25 in celebration of this Sunday’s (March 3) Tokyo Marathon. Packed with tons of details that point back to ASICS’ home country, and the city of Tokyo, the GEL-KAYANO 25 sees a gradient colorway from black to red with gold accents throughout.
From the heel to the middle of the sneaker, a traditional seigaiha wave motif repeats itself, while the characters for Tokyo (東京) can been found at the heel stabilizer. To help in long distance running, the midsole features lightweight Flytefoam cushioning, and the uppers incorporate a multi-slotted mesh material for comfort and breathability. Finishing off the trainer is gold weaving in the laces, and the city name Tokyo printed on the insole and lace tips.
The GEL-KAYANO 25 “Tokyo Marathon” can be found now in Japan at all ASICS flagships for a price of $190 USD.
