Ryan Reynolds Reveals 'Deadpool 3' Is in Progress at Marvel
Reynolds confirms the news on a holiday episode of ‘Live with Ryan and Kelly.’
After handing over the reins to Marvel’s Kevin Feige over the summer, the Deadpool franchise has officially gotten off the ground for its third installment under the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the acquisition of Fox Studios, fans were left unsure of whether Marvel’s parent company Disney would allow the family-friendly films to fold in the R-rated superhero, but it appears those doubts can now be subsided.
Lead actor Ryan Reynolds recently appeared on the holiday edition of Live with Kelly and Ryan to talk about Christmas with his kids, meeting Mariah Carey and upcoming projects. During the interview, Reynolds confirmed that Deadpool 3 is currently in the works under Marvel Studios.
“We’re working on it right now with the whole team,” stated Reynolds. “We’re over at Marvel now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kind of crazy.” According to Variety, Emma Watts who formerly led Fox’s film productions and oversaw the previous two Deadpool movies will step down from the franchise but continue to work with Reynolds on the sci-fi/action film Free Guy.
