Tinashe Shares a Provocative New Video for 'Songs For You' Cut "Stormy Weather"
The now-independent superstar has had a great year.
Towards the end of November, Tinashe released her latest full-length studio album Songs For You. Comprised of 15 tracks, Songs For You is notable for being Tinashe’s first full-length release since going independent and her fourth studio album overall. Continuing to support the aforementioned LP, Tinashe is closing out 2019 and entering 2020 with a striking, dance routine-filled music video for the Oliver Malcolm-produced Songs For You record “Stormy Weather.”
“Everyone wants to be successful, but that’s not my goal with creating. My goal in general was to get back to my roots and do everything the right way. And to allow people the chance to discover me for who I really am,” Tinashe explained to Billboard last month, sharing some insight into her current inspirations and creative process. “Right after I released Joyride, I started to delve into the recording process again and I felt this was my opportunity. It’s now or never. Being able to put yourself in a vulnerable place emotionally is actually strength. It’s like, “‘What’s going to happen now?!’ And that goes for all of my relationships. There was a real moment when I was like, ‘I’m just here by myself.’”
You can take a look at Tinashe’s new music video for “Stormy Weather” above. “Stormy Weather” is the second Songs For You song to receive a visual treatment since the project first hit streaming services, coming to us one month after the debut of the video for the project’s G-Eazy collaboration “So Much Better.”
