Following its collaboration with Reebok, nanamica has returned with its SS20 lookbook. Featured are a series of understated layers, lensed behind bright, solid blue and yellow palettes that bring out the seasonal tones of the garments — inspirations for SS20 stem from sartorial mid-century – ’70s garments, largely referencing vintage American office worker attire.
Spanning baggy zip-up jackets, mac coats, blazers, button-ups, rugby shirts, pin-striped trousers, anoraks and hi-tech parkas, the assemblage is filled with a mix of meticulously tailored silhouettes and hi-tech mid-layers embedded with Alphadry and GORE-TEX fabrics. One noteworthy piece is a navy parka, constructed with a high collar, two deep chest pockets and drawstrings at the hem. The jacket has been treated with a rich indigo dye that has been bleached slightly with vibrant splashes of white appear sporadically throughout the body — its matching denim pants feature the same patterns.
Another highlight is a light beige mac coat that features an oversized cut. Coming with tonal buttons, the classic silhouette has been tweaked at the arms for subtle articulation, complemented by widened welt pockets for added comfort. Rounding up the collection, other pieces like the bomber jackets, patchwork short-sleeve button-up, chinos, muted blazers and trench coats have been treated with majotae fabrics for a unique double weave shell that offers both a stiff texture and lightweight feel.
