LeBron James' UNKNWN Premieres Expansive Thom Browne Collaboration
The athlete’s preferred tailor serves up a special sporty capsule.
First announced back in October, LeBron James‘ UNKNWN has revealed its exclusive Thom Browne capsule in time for the holidays. The capsule swaps Browne’s iconic shrunken suits for an array of comfy, athletic layers ideal for those seeking to emulate the basketball star’s loungey off-court looks.
In early 2018, James took his then-team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, to get suited up at Browne’s atelier, revealing a deep appreciation for Browne’s unique approach to tailoring. Since then, James has been spotted wearing both Browne’s formal and laid-back creations, making the partnership with the Miami-based UNKNWN, co-owned by James, Jaron Kanfer and Frankie Walker Jr., a natural fit.
Comprising a brief array of lightweight items, the capsule is well suited to Florida’s warm climate. Executed in tones of white and black, a hoodie, polo, T-shirts, socks, hat and slide sandals boast premium woven textiles crafted in Japan — never before utilized for a Browne collection — accompanied by a small canvas shoulder bag. Browne’s signature red, white and blue grosgain appears throughout, lending a slight contrast to the buttoned hem of the T-shirt, strap of the hat and rear of the polo shirt’s neck.
Expect the exclusive Thom Browne collection to drop on December 13 via UNKNWN’s website and at its new Wynwood flagship store.
