Nike recently announced its results for the second quarter of the 2020 fiscal year, which ran to the end of November. In the reports — which saw revenues climb by 12 percent to $9.8 billion dollars — was the news that Jordan Brand had recorded its first ever billion dollar quarter.

Speaking about the news on a conference call, outgoing President and CEO Mark Parker described this as “an incredible milestone” and was driven by “high-quality growth.” Parker went on to single out the Air Jordan 34 silhouette, the Air Jordan 1 and Women’s and Apparel divisions. Discussing the future of Jordan, Parker added that Nike is “still in the early stages of diversifying the Jordan portfolio” and pointed to the recent release of the Air Jordan 11 “Bred” as evidence that Jordan Brand was continuing its momentum into the next quarter.
