Elijah Wood's Estranged Father May Be a Murderer in 'Come to Daddy' Trailer
A comedy-horror that’s made the rounds at this year’s various film festivals.
Saban Films has debuted the first trailer for its comedy horror movie starring Elijah Wood—Come to Daddy. Wood plays Norval, a timid man in his 30s who sets out to reconnect with his estranged father at his remote cabin, only to learn the two don’t get along very well. If that wasn’t enough, however, Norval soon discovers his dad has a shady past and some demons he’s going to have to face before they can come together as father and son.
The trailer above does well to display these things without giving away all the eventual twists the film is bound to have. The film is said to have a mixture of horror and dark comedy, alongside some stark scenes of violence. The Ant Timpson-directed film made the rounds at this year’s various film festivals, including SITGES, Frightfest, The Overlook Film Festival, and Tribeca. All of which give the movie glowing reviews for its balancing act of genre-bending.
Check out the trailer above, also starring Martin Donovan, Michael Smiley, Madeleine Sami, and Simon Chin, then be on the lookout for Come to Daddy February 7, 20202 when it arrives in select theaters.
