DISTINCT LIFE Teams With PUMA for "Inspire Pack"
New takes on the Palace Guard and California, inspired by the city of Detroit.

The city of Detroit has had an outsize influence on industries ranging from music to automotive, so native son Rick Williams‘s DISTINCT LIFE and PUMA are teaming up for an “Inspire Pack” that’s motivated by the Motor City’s creative energy. Consisting of the Palace Guard and California, the pack salutes Detroit’s dedication, work ethic and community.
Both silhouettes mix supple black leathers and suedes with bold yellow accents. The Palace Guard — a fitting inclusion, as it was once worn by Detroit Pistons great and NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas — contrasts its stark base with hits of yellow suede on the heel counter, toebox and laces. It also boasts a “Detroit Inspires the World” hit on its heel. A small DISTINCT LIFE tag, flecked yellow laces, white midsole and gum outsole complete the look.
Meanwhile, the California ops for a tonal black suede and leather upper, relegating its yellow hits to the heel and midsole. “INSPIRE” is embroidered in thick black letters across the medial side, and a gum outsole grounds the design both literally and figuratively. Each pair is also accompanied by a special shoebox.
The DISTINCT LIFE x PUMA “Inspire Pack” will arrive on December 7 as part of a DISTINCT LIFE takeover of Foot Locker Detroit. The release is set to be accompanied by a day full of panels and interactive events, culminating with a conversation between Rick Williams and Detroit’s own Big Sean.
