Billionaire Boys Club Recruits Japan's is-ness for Reversible Fleece

The emerging label lends its hands to a slouchy outerwear staple.

Billionaire Boys Club is joining forces with emerging Japanese label is-ness to start 2020 on the right foot. Though is-ness may be best known for dropping collaborative T-shirts alongside THE CONVENI, the newly-revamped label has garnered a small, yet devoted, following over the past couple seasons for its slouchy, effortless silhouettes, which informs this special item.

Launched in 2001, is-ness quietly produced colorful sportswear influenced by designer Tomomi Kishita’s love of music for several years, launching a collaborative boot with a then-young Suicoke before debuting a few full-fledged collections beginning in 2009. In 2016, is-ness shifted gears stylistically, displaying sophisticated cuts and a recognizably louche approach to styling.

This BBC collaboration repurposes one of is-ness’ favored cold weather layers, the reversible fleece jacket. A high collar, colorful zipper pull and The North Face parody graphic are all signature touches, with the garment itself executed in neutral tones that seamlessly blend the co-branded elements. Glossy BBC astronaut imagery, a white patch on the fleece side and branded sleeve tag all reinforce the collaborative nature.

Expect the collaborative jacket to launch on the web store of 1LDK affiliate UNLIMITED and Japanese Billionaire Boys Club stores on January 2 for ¥43,000 JPY (approximately $395 USD).

This partnership wraps up a series of recent collaborative releases between Billionaire Boys Club and various Japanese brands, including exclusives from FIRST DOWN, Medicom Toy, FDMTL and NEIGHBORHOOD.
